Could NDT be harder to digest for some?

One seller of thyroid glandular claims that some people cannot benefit fully from it because of the proteins in natural thyroid, and that the solution is to take digestive enzymes together with natural thyroid. This seller also sells said enzymes, so it could all be about making money, but it made me wonder...unlike synthetic thyroid hormone, NDT contains proteins which make most of the hormones bound and not free . Could they be an issue for some people?

That sounds rather a tall story ……

This is a red herring. Yes, the T4 and T3 in NDT are largely bound to the protein thyroglobulin. As soon as your pill(s) reach the stomach, the enzymes pepsin and trypsin will go to work on the protein. If by the time the stomach contents reach the small intestine, the proteolysis degradation isn't complete, then more enzymes in the small intestine will finish the job. Naturally with a healthy thyroid, the protein-bound T4 and T3 is freed as soon as it enters the bloodstream.
