Which dosage are you asking about.

25mcg Northstar tablets are made by Teva so anyone who doesn't get on with Teva tablets won't get on with Northstar 25mcg

50mcg and 100mcg Northstar tablets are made by Accord.

So presumably are you taking 1 x 100mcg and 1 x 25mcg, both Northstar brand.

If so they are made by two different companies as mentioned.

The 25mcg ones made by Teva are lactose free and contain Mannitol instead and many people have had adverse reactions to these tablets and members have reported many different symptoms from taking Teva or Northstar 25mcg tablets.

Northstar 100mcg are made by Accord and they seem to be well tolerated by many members.

Your question about whether anyone has had a change in symptoms does sound like you have yourself. So it might be worth you clarifying what dose tablets you are actually taking and what you have experienced and when these changes started, eg maybe when you added the 25mcg tablets.

Hi

I used to get my prescriptions from Lloyd's and this is their brand, but made for them by Accord. This was my first try on Levo and Northstar really aggravated my IBS, I didn't realise that it could be the fillers in the tablet that were the issue until I spoke to the pharmacist. I naively assumed all Levo was much of a muchness.

I changed over to Accord and get it as a named brand on my repeat prescriptions, weirdly I don't get any IBS issues on it, even though Northstar is made by Accord, which is odd to say the least.

Hi

Digestive issues are all part of the fun of being hypo lol. I've had IBS for years but found cutting right down on carbs like bread and pasta has helped. I keep my carb intake low for that reason. You could be either gluten or lactose intolerant.

Hypo causes everything to slow down, including the digestive tract. Food is in your system for longer and doesn't digest as well. Low stomach acid is also common. I've felt like food just sits in my stomach like a stone, not moving. I can't eat a huge amount these days. My appetite has definitely decreased.

You could also ask to trial a different brand. It's the fillers they use that can make a difference. Teva and Aristo make lactose free Levo tablets. And Accord and Mercury Pharma are apparently the most easily tolerated. Did you have bloating before you went on the tablets?
