Donna, email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk for a list of member recommended endocrinologists.

Ok thanks . Can you ask the secretary when you make enquiries if they provide ndt t3 clutter also if they give nhs scripts it's just I'm not sure what to ask also is it better to have bloods done before an appointment

Donna, ask the secretaries whether NDT or T3 is prescribed. It shouldn't be taken as a guarantee an endo will find it appropriate to prescribe in all cases. If you are seeing a consultant privately, the prescription will be private not NHS. A private consultant might write to your GP recommending T3 or NDT but your GP can refuse to prescribe NDT which isn't licensed for UK use.

I would have bloods done 7-10 days prior to a consultation.

I know how difficult it is to get a good endo in northern ireland - I am in Derry area - I used to see a Professor Hadden in the Royal years ago but to be honest he wasn't extremely good (for me anyway). Please let me know if you have any success. And yes its better it if you have blood results with you so at least at the first consultation they know what they are dealing with. I don't know either if there are any support groups in Northern Ireland but a few would be very welcome as you can always get tips and advice from others with the same condition. Good luck.
