Today

Thyroxine - should have been at 8am this morning

Thyroid S - 1 at 8am, 1 at 4-5pm, last one between 8pm and midnight tonight.

T3 - 10mcg at 8am this morning, 5mcg between 4-5pm, 5mcg between 8pm and midnight tonight.

Tomorrow

Test at 8am

Start taking your thyroid meds immediately after your test, space as you wish.

Thank you ever so much … do you think the way you’ve staggered my doses would be better than what. I’m doing?

It's the way I would do it. I would even out the T3. Even if you take it all in one go normally, it's generally advised here to split T3 (and NDT because it contains T3) into 2 or 3 doses the day before the test.

Taking 20mcg all at once the evening before the test will give quite a spike in your hormone level. T3 peaks in the blood 2-4 hours after ingestion. By splitting it into 2 or 3 doses you are evening the amount of T3 out and will have smaller peaks from each dose.

Good Morning …..The way you’ve suggested it take my thyroid medication seams to have quite a large gap between doses from 8 am until 4-5 which will be a ((8 hours )) gap…would it not be better to move the afternoon one to lunch time ? Which seams abit of a smoother pattern?

Thank you for you’re input ..

You asked how to space out your doses for a thyroid test, that's what I addressed - last dose of Levo 24 hours before test, NDT and T3 split into 2 or 3 doses and last dose 8-12 hours before test.

Are you now asking something different?

Hi Tanyaking, my endo told me to take no medication after my 4 pm dose and to fast, however, he will then take that into account when interpreting the results. If your GP/endo didn't guide you then you can't know what they want which is probably why what I've written is different from SeasideSusie below.
