Ramiprimil and thyroid med - timing of medication

Today I've taken by mistake Ramipril first instead of taking my thyroid medication first. I usually take first my thyroid med, wait for one hour with an empty stomach, and then take the Ramipril. How long should I wait to take my thyroid med after taking Ramipril, so my thyroid med is properly absorbed by my body? Thanks.

Regenallotment thank you so much for this lovely message. Your kindness is appreciated and I hope the starting week brings something beautiful to you 💫 After the ramipril, which I took on an empty stomach, I waited for two hours without having anything but water. Then I took the thyroid pill and waited for another full hour, just drinking water. In general I think it worked 😉

to be honest, I take all my meds, ramipril, amlodipine, levothyroxine and liothyronine, all at once with a cup of tea, when I wake up, lol, I haven't had any significant interactions that I know of (I do this because I have significant eye problems atm and it's easier this way). A little mixing up won't cause you any significant damage. What can cause problems is trying to do normality without any thyroid meds, so just take them and don't worry.

Cazlook, many thanks for sharing this feedback. My doctor strongly advised against taking my thyroid meds with anything else, as it could hinder the proper absortion of the ingredients. What I usually do is just take the thryoid pill first thing when I wake up and wait one hour to have tea or coffee, food or other meds, including Ramipril. What I did when I accidentally took the Ramipril pill first, I waited for two hours without having anything but water, then I took the thyroid pill and waited for another full hour just drinking water. It was a bit of an unexpected fasting for me, but it worked well, I think 😉 All best wishes.
