1. A referential book such as a handbook or manual.
2. A useful object, constantly carried on one’s person.
My earlier abbreviations and acronyms document worked quite well. The problem I saw was that I had created numerous other documents. And members simply did not know they existed.
By combining several documents, I have produced a considerable collection of information in a single document. Hence the name. To a large extent, it is a book of lists.
I had to make lots of design decisions and one of them was to reduce the margins to almost nothing. This means that it is not ideally formatted for printing. I hope (and expect) most members will actually use it on a phone, tablet or computer.
Not everything is in this one document - my major medicines document is still separate!
To begin with, the old documents will still be available but I shall edit each one to indicate that they are no longer being updated.
This has the advantage of making it available in multiple ebook formats. And, if you really, really want to get to sleep, it will read it out to you in a robotic voice - one that doesn't know how to pronounce many of the words and has a strongly USA accent.
But it has the disadvantage that I'll probably not update it as regularly here.
What can I say??!! You truly are one of a kind Helvella. It’s a work of art!! How you find the time and even the inclination I don’t know! I am so glad you did. So much info in one place now. Invaluable.
Thank you so much. I am sure everyone will be as wowed as I am. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Much as I appreciate that, I have to make it absolutely clear, it has not been completed.
More a work in progress with an intent to continue adding and revising. Most particularly, I'd appreciate two things from members:
First, to let me know the mistakes and what could be improved.
Second, to keep downloading new copies. I do keep making updates - some incredibly tiny and unimportant, some significant. So don't keep using old versions forever.
If only the professional medics had this knowledge ..or even the mental flexibility to recognise that ,unlike the NHS, the human body does not operate on protocols.
