New bloods - suggestions please!

Ok, third post in as many days!

So I’ve been feeling rubbish for about three weeks now. At first I thought it was a bug… I improved a bit and then my period hit. I always feel rubbish about three days in when my progesterone drops, and my thyroid hormone with it.

At the same time (see my other post!) I started taking supplement a which I think have interfered with my T3 uptake. So I dropped them and would’ve expected an improvement about three days later. It’s never come.

I feel like I’ve got a permanent hangover. I’m getting dizzy spells, I feel wobbly and nauseous. Not all the time, but if I go for a walk I start to feel a bit unwell as I near the end, like my energy is running out. I have had this before from when my T3 dose hasn’t been right and it’s been resolved by upping it a little.

Obvious you’d have thought except a little while back I was breathless so tested and I was over range. I reduced by 5mcg and it has helped. Took a few weeks though. So now I’m in range but feeling rubbish.

McPammy pointed out that as I had started taking supplements again maybe they were responsible for pushing me over range a bit, and that may well be the case but if so why don’t I feel well on less?

Help?? Bloods posted below. I’m currently taking 55mcg split twice but has been on 60mcg when the previous “over” test was done.

What was the result on 60 mcg T3?You're saying your breathlessness has improved, but you feel dizzy. This permanent hangover feeling unfortunately can be both over and under. Although there is a difference between the two for me. Over is more like want to cry, I can't put my thoughts together and this dizzy feeling is more violent than underdosed when I feel calm and fainty.

Have you ever tried taking your dose all at once?

So on 60 it was 7.2 a that’s the previous red dot!

Yeah, the dizziness is more after I take my T3 and as suggested on a previous post I possibly the wave of T3 entering the cells. Tbh it has improved a bit since yesterday so I’m happy that it might go on its own.

Thing is, I was convinced my FT3 would be lower and it isn’t, so this has totally confused me.

I can’t take my dose all at once - or get as high as about 40mcg at one time and I feel really wired. I may try it again at some point but it didn’t feel great last time!

The hangover thing is newer for me. Tired, fatigued, muscle weakness, palpitations- all these things yes, and over or under often. But the hangover, sicky, funny empty tummy feeling is new.

The only time I can remember dizziness after taking t3 was when my ft4 was very low and I had to up it. I wonder if you are undermedicated with 6.1? Have you tried taking 57.5? Sometimes it really is down to fine tuning. Yeah at first you can feel wired, you need a couple of weeks for your body to settle. First few days are always the worst.

I’m wondering this. I’ll try to up it but lordy it’s tricky splitting those tablets into 2.5’s!

I know! Do you use Thybon?

No, Mercury pharma

Why??

in reply toMurphysmum

I thought they were smaller than Thybon, but this could be just my imagination.

Oh I see! Haha, maybe.

None are very big, that’s for sure!

If they could be a size of a quail's egg I would appreciate it 😂

Normal healthy euthyroid people have an fT3 of 5.2 to 5.6. So maybe you need to reduce the dose. And since they are not taking anything, that's their range over 24 hours. You probably waited 12 hours before taking the test, so it's probably a lot higher for a few hours after you take the T3.

Just interested to see if you resolved this issue and symptoms? Xx

Yep! Too much progesterone as it turns out.I stopped taking it last month and after about a week the symptoms started to disappear.
