Any Advice on Transitioning to Armour?

Hello everyone! I’m eighteen months into a Hashimotos medication journey and have reached the point where I’m ready to try Armour in the hope it alleviates the crippling stiffness and constant pain that I’ve had since starting Levothyroxine in March of 2020. Aside from that and horrid weight gain, most of my other hypo symptoms are resolved with my current dose of liquid Levo 140mcg and 25mcg of compounded T3.

The weight gain may just be menopause and lack of activity due to the stiffness and pain.

I am awaiting blood results from yesterday and assuming I’m in “optimal” ranges, I have been planning to start taking Armour straight away.

I have a 1.5 grain bottle prescribed for me by the pharmacy where I’ve been buying compounded T3. They said to just start taking the Armour and keep taking it for six weeks before testing.

They are helpful but I trust all of you more so please tell me is there anything I need to know or look out for? Should I phase out the current T4/T3 or change cold turkey? I’m terrified I’m going to crash or go hyper.

I’m also concerned I could have a psoriasis flare as one off meals with pork can trigger temporary psoriasis patches but regular consumption and the psoriasis stays and spreads. The alternative is to keep on my current t4/t3 regime and go on immunosuppressants for what is being thought of as psoriatic arthritis (but it started when I started the levo and previously only happened if I ate in restaurants and there was cross contamination so I’m pretty sure it’s a reaction to the Levo).

It’s been a very tough 18 months and I’m desperate for a solution. If you have any experience of any of the above, please help!

I’ve been on Teva liquid Levo since approximately May 2021. I had a few bottles of mercury pharma at the beginning but not for a few months now. I was taking Aristo tablets before that and Teva tablets before that (which made me very ill).

Not sure about my current ferritin but I’ve been eating red meat at least twice a week (more than before). NHS endo wanted me to raise it with diet and not tablets as my gut function is not very functional! In May the ferritin was 58 (13-150 range).

I’ve been injecting B12 EOD and taking methylfolate (currently 3gms per day) and this has made a significantly positive difference to my wellbeing. In May the folate was 9.9 (2.9-26.8 range).

Vitamin D in May was 66 (25-120 range)…
