Shocked by son-in-law's diagnosis of GBS

We have been very worried about my son-in-law's mystery illness. A few months ago he started having burning sensations in his hands and feet followed by shooting pains in his legs. Then it spread to one side of his body and was accompanied by burning feelings and numbness in his face. First it was thought he had MS but blood tests didn't show anything up. He was on an 18 week waiting list for a pain clinic appointment so decided to take advantage of his employers provision of private Healthcare Insurance. Consultant he saw said it could be any of about thirty things which cause nerve damage and neuropathy. A brain scan failed to find a tumour and a body scan any other obvious problem. Last on the list was nerve conduction tests and an appointment with a neurologist. Nobody had expected a diagnosis of Guillan-Barre Syndrome, but the Doctor said he does see regular cases and since the roll out of the Astra Zeneca vaccine his case load has quadrupled.

This fits with the onset after Faz's first jab and a fresh flare- up after the second. He is healing but has still lost 30-40% conduction in his upper left side. When I googled GBS . posts came up of reports in NY Times and Washington Post that a few extra cases have been noticed in connection with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

I now have stronger suspicions about the cause of my son's CRPS which started after he had his first AZ injection. Not trying to scare you all and I am not a vaccine denier. I think it important that most people get vaccinated, but I felt I should share this info as it might help some people.

I know absolutely nothing about either CRPS or GBS. My only suggestion would be that your son gets tested for any nutrient deficiencies.

Anyone can have low levels of nutrients, and if they are otherwise fit and healthy they might never even realise. I personally think that recovery from any health issue will be reduced and/or slowed down if people have low levels of any nutrients.

My friend’s husband developed GBS in November last year - before he had any Covid vaccination. He ended up on a ventilator for 5 months and is now in rehab. It can happen to anyone, vaccinated or not.

There’s a website, FLCCC, Front Line Covid Critical Care, where they have treatment protocols, including for post-vaccine, I think. I’ve not looked at that particular protocol but it may be worth a peek. No recommendations.

Thankyou for that information. I will investigate.
