Some useful information on folate supplements is given in this link :

chriskresser.com/folate-vs-...

I take folate occasionally, and I just buy bog-standard methylfolate supplements with a dose of 1000mcg per tablet. I usually just take it twice a week and I try to keep my level between 15 and 20 mcg/L. I don't have a particular brand I always buy.

I should point out that I take a B Complex too - specifically Igennus Super B, and I take one of those per day (when I remember).

Thank you human bean. There seems such a range of prices for folate supplements. Do you take B12 along with the BComplex supplements?

Sometimes - but then as I said I feel best with a very high result for B12 i.e. well over the range. I always aim to keep folate within range.

I have used a Folate supplement to top up the amount in the B Complex I was using, 400mcg was enough for me although they do a 1,000mcg version. No additives in this brand :

Thank you SeasideSusie. I wonder - do you take B12 as well as a Complex?

No, my B12 is very good, I don't need to supplement.

Hi, I'm doing very well on 1-2 of Pure Encapsulation's 400 folate. They might be a bit more pricey than other brands, but at least I do tolerate them well. If you have any issues with allergies or sensitivities, this might be a good option.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'll look into that.

My folate was low. What I did to boost it was to include more fruit and veg into my diet. I eat a full grapefruit every each and every day with my breakfast and I eat an orange every evening after my dinner. I peel four oranges in advance and keep them in a sealed bag in the fridge l. This way I’m not having to peel one each time which might put me off. It’s gone from a low of 5.2 to 16.4 (range is above 4) by just introducing these fruits. I also try to have more veg with my meals.

Thank you. I like the idea of peeling 4 at a time 😃
