I’ve had very high FSH and LH. Both were over 100 at one point and now they’re both in the normal range. I’m still having investigations but PCOS was suspected but now they’re thinking endometriosis is quite likely. It’s really frustrating.
Your ovaries may not be responding for various reasons. Just testing LH and FSH doesn’t give the full picture. Really depends on other symptoms. Depending on the type of PCOS you have there are ways to improve fertility. There are 4 main types of PCOS. If it’s insulin driven PCOS then changing your diet lowering blood glucose and insulin can restore ovulation. In this scenario myoinositol has been show to help restore ovulation.
Basically if LH and FSH are high it means your brain is pushing the ovaries to get the follicle ready (contains the egg) and ovulate but there’s a lack of response hence both markers get higher and higher.
I really do think that one result will not mean all is lost. These tests do need to be repeated.
PCOS and endometriosis are a sign low grade inflammation. Addressing the inflammation from a functional medicine perspective should help.
