I will not be using this company again. Has anyone else had problems? I have used them twice previously. This time I have had to complain but they even advised me wrong on that. I attended my GP (nurse) on Monday 8.55am but as they wont test vits or T3 I take my Medichecks test kit with me and the nurses draw blood and fill tube to 600 mark. Posted sample priority. Recieved by Medichecks Tues. Message weds stating insufficient blood to do all tests!!!I rang them as I had a GP appointment for Thurs programmed. 3.30pm. They told me that as it was a fingerprint test there was not enough blood. I told them this was rubbish as my drs nurse had drawn it as previous samples. This was a FULL thyroid test I'd paid them £71 for. The vit B12 and antibody tests hadn't been done. It was the vit B12 I really needed. I requested a refund. They refused. I complained. Told me a supervisor will ring me within 30 days!!! She said they would send me what results they had anyway. Now Friday still waiting. Just received an email stating my test results have been delayed and will be available sometime over the weekend. Plus another email stating "sorry a supervisor will ring you withn 5 days and not the 30 days I told you originally. I feel I cannot trust this company with such an important test on my health.
Poor Service from Medichecks: I will not be using... - Thyroid UK
Poor Service from Medichecks
I used them quite a bit over the last 4 years but have to say I've lost faith in their service and won't use them again. They provided a very good service originally and I did the Well Woman Ultra Vit once a year to get overall picture of my levels, but get the feeling they can't cope with the number of tests they do now.
Wondered if they were doing covid testing and don't have the extra capacity to do it really. Even their website has got more complicated. It used to be very straightforward. Seems to me they've jazzed everything up and lost their way in the process, plus more competition. I've found Monitor My Health very good for thyroid tests & vitamin D. Simple, quick and reliable and reasonable price. Don't do B12 unfortunately.
The latest from Medichecks is an apology for the inconvenience. They are now requesting the lab to do a retest on the ORIGINAL sample. Err I was told there was insufficient blood to do even the first test. Apparently the test failed in the lab on antibodies test and vit B. So why did the lab not just do a rerun test instead of falsely trying blame me for sending in an insufficient sample. I'm getting really annoyed with this company. They are amateurs. Anyone who reads this please do not be fobbed off by them. They just seem to cover up for each other. I will not trust them again . I asked for a full refund and was denied it.
I found MMH good for thyroid test. Found their customer service good for vit D but may not use again because they adopt a results method (Roche) which is different to previous NHS. I think it's a good method but unsure if would use again, for consistency.
Also their methodology classifies serum D >101nmol/l as Excessive with likely harms as it assumes people will continue with very high dosages, without monitoring. Whilst I understand it, it could confuse.
Interesting. I have only used Medichecks once , this month, and service was good.Maybe I was lucky but I did visit one of the clinics they use in London for the blood draw. I remember my GP did my B12 in the past so maybe some people may prefer to try Monitor My Health and get B12 done at GP. Just a thought.
Hi Ginid. The two previous occasions I used Medichecks they did a very good job, no complaints. But the third time was poor as I have previously given reasons on here. I was not the only member that week to have a botched result. My complaint was not sent to senior members of the staff as I had originally been told it had been. However I can confirm that when it was I investigated properly Medichecks have given me a full refund, not partial. It is not a cheap test to pay for in excess of £70 for full Thyroid.
I will add in lynmynott for her response
Strange but I submitted a finger prick test to Medichecks on Monday and received an email at 9.56 Wednesday morning saying there was an error, maybe not enough blood. This email also advised me to contact Medichecks to arrange for them to send me another test kit, which I did and it arrived today. At 10.17 on Wednesday I received an email giving the results they were able to obtain - missing were B12, T3 and both Antibodies.
Hi Maggiesmum. Thankyou for replying, It appears the same has happened to your sample the same as mine. It cant be coincidence that we are missing the same test results. I have had another conversation with customer service since my last post on here and the lady i spoke to was suprised that my complaint had NOT been cascaded to a senior service manager. Whatever has gone on it appears to me that someone has messed up and they were trying to keep it from been sent higher. The reason i rang them was because I received an email from them just stating they were posting out a new kit to me. This was only 2 hours after an email stating the lab were doing a retest on my original sample(this was the one that they said had insufficient blood in it. I cannot believe or trust this company anymore.
