Private endo appointment on Monday. Should I push for T3?

Currently taking 150/150/100 levo but still not regained my health. I had a boost a few weeks into this dose but once again I'm struggling with extreme fatigue, achey heavy legs and brain fog. Do my recent bloods suggest I'm a good candidate for liothyronine? I'm counting down the hours until my appointment. I'm much improved compared to how I have been but I'm desperate to live and be able to work properly again.

When did you take your last dose of Levo before the test? We should leave 24 hours between last dose and blood draw.

Are you nutrient levels optimal:

Vit D - 100-150nmol/L

B12 - top of range for Total B12, for Active B12 over 100

Folate - at least half way through range

Ferritin- half way through range

Hello! Last levo 24hrs before test.

I've attached my other results. I've been trying hard to raise ferritin through diet and spatone, for about a year.

I find it hard to raise ferritin too and I eat about 140g liver every week.

As your other vitamins are good then I would suggest to your endo to consider a trial of T3. You don't want your FT4 going any higher, you're getting as much conversion as possible with your TSH low and FT4 high, so you may well benefit from a slight reduction in Levo and the addition of T3.

Thank you. That was my thinking that I'd exhausted the options with levo as my FT4 was so high.

Thank you. Other results also added above. I've had raised TgAb on at least two occasions normal now though. I've been gluten free for about 8 or 9 months.

Gluten intolerance is often good indicator of needing T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

Recommend pushing for T3

Typically adding 5mcg T3 2-3 times a day

Thank you very much. Good to hear others thoughts concur with mine and I've not just convinced myself!!

Yes I’d ask for a trial of T3

My results are very similar 94%/45%

I will be asking to trial T3 if it's not offered. I'd like to see my T's a bit more balanced!

Hello. My results are almost identical to yours and I have been wondering the same. I just haven’t plucked up the courage to ask my GP to refer me to an Endo! Do let us know how you get on.

I hope you are successful. The endo I saw a few weeks ago told me at the start of the appointment that he cannot prescribe T3 due to cost. I wasn’t planning to ask for it so it wasn’t the worst news. He did agree to tell my GP he was happy for me to self source ndt, that’s what I had hoped for. He also told them that ferritin at 13.4 with range 10-200 I needed sone further investigation. I was given 82 ferrous sulphate by the GP. Needles to say I spoke to a different GP at the surgery and she arranged further testing including B12. Good luck on Monday.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I got a private T3 prescription. I'm going to start another post to get users' advice on starting.
