Denial of L-T3 Liothyronine ~ The Great UK Crime Against Humanity

Secretary of State for Health & Social Care Matt Hancok did not resign because of an affair, and anybody who thinks that will believe anything they are told.

The government appointed its fixer Sajid Javid as the new secretary of state for health & social care to try and dig the government out of the hole it has dug for itself.

No matter how you consider the matter, the UK is under a duty to provide medical care for the chronically sick and disabled, and anybody who has been denied L-T3 Liothyronine will know exactly how debilitating and disabling that can be.

In fact the denial of Liothyronine is a form of inhumane treatment described by Article 7(1)(k) of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as: Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

Hows that for an introduction ?

Well, it’s a theory. But we try not to do politics here. Please see Rule 30 on this pinned post: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

I apologise for the seemingly political nature of my contribution, but if we ignore the elephant in the room, then we will never get anywhere.

The elephant in the room is the law and those who made or refuse to amend that law

~

Did you know that the GMC can make its own laws (Tertiary Law) which it appears cannot be challenged by parliament. A repeal of the Medical Act 1983 is required. The government believes that it has divested itself of its duties and obligations to provide healthcare by transferring those duties to the GMC. Complaining you your MP about medical matters is futile.

~

If you look up the medical act, look for the provisions whereby the GMC may make Regulations, roughly equivalent to Statutory Instruments, but in many cases without any elected supervision.

Well you are not going to help anyone improve their current health with mere political rants so I would say that is a pathetic introduction. SeasideSusie shaws redapple40

While it is true “mere political rants” won’t improve our health issues, it would be an absolute denial refusing to acknowledge the present political situation is not exactly helping people with serious health problems or the social care side of the situation. Unfortunately politics have much influence, too often negative, on the well-being of society. With respect this isn’t party politics but it is important for all to understand how politics and politicians affect every aspect of our lives, not the least our health.

There are already articles, petitions and groups working on this. You may have seen the information regarding this already on this site.I don't think that you can say that this is anything other than a political rant when the writer names a current MP.

This sort of post is detrimental to the ethos of this site.

It would do us, the hypo patients, a service if the GPs were more knowledgeable about dysfunctional thyroid glands. They seem to know not much more than a TSH and T4 result. I know of one who told me that T3 converts to T4! (this was because I took T3 only) and he was stating my T4 was too low.

In fact, the stating of political opinions in an introduction to a forum which specifically requested you avoid posts of a political nature when you joined , is a form of deliberate rudeness, inconsiderate to others respectful enough to know where to draw the line, and a cause of unnecessary extra work for our extremely busy volunteer admins .

People who deliberately encourage others to get involved in contentious discussions of this kind are doing nothing to help anyone. and the main purpose of this forum is to allow people to ask for help and others to give it...

The request to avoid posting political/religious etc opinions is not political censorship, it is simply that it inevitably causes arguments which sometimes cause people to feel excluded and leave , or in extreme cases, causes forums to be temporarily closed (as seen in another community on Health Unlocked recently) thereby denying a valuable source of help and community to all those who do have the decency to respect the conditions they agreed to when they joined.

Perhaps it would be a better 'introduction' to edit your post and make your point without the unnecessary personal politics ?
