Different makes of t3

I’m being a nuisance this morning I know but I am wondering what T3 people prefer?

I know Tiromel is said to be weaker but some like it.

What about cytomel? Seems expensive. Or sigmapharm? Claims to be gluten free

Hope I’ve spelt these correctly?

Or are people generally ok with a generic form?

Any experiences much appreciated.

You need to be extremely careful with names. The brand name Cytomel is used in the USA by Pfizer. But in Netherlands it is used by Ace Pharma. And it is used for almost any liothyronine product in the world when you start reading the internet. Indeed, people posting as advertisers, or as patients or various experts all too often pay no attention to the precise naming of products.

Most medicines are gluten-free. Specifically, all UK medicines bar a very small number of obvious exceptions, are gluten-free.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, around the world.

There are separate sections for liothyronine (T3) and combination products.

Well thank you for that Helvella. I hadn’t realised! The site I had looked at listed as Pfizer so I should have put that too.

Thank you for the Dropbox link. I am very appreciative. I will be more thorough in future.

Don't take it as a a criticism of you!

Just trying to make it as clear as I can that "Here be dragons!". :-)

There is also the Mexican 'Grossman Cynomel' which some people say is the gold standard of T3, comes in bottles of 100 x 25mcg tablets. I can't comment on that I'm afraid but everyone has one brand that they are best on (a bit like Levo).

Ooo that sounds interesting. I will see if I can take a look.

I am sure everyone has their own preferences just like Levo, as you say, I just didn’t want to go straight in for a particular one and it turn out to be the Teva of t3! Lol.

Not at all. I am grateful for your input. I could have unwittingly purchased something I hadn’t intended to. I’m pleased you made me aware. Thank you 😊
