For the body to be able to make good use of B12 it needs good levels of folate. So if your folate is low you might get symptoms of low B12 too.

Personal anecdote : I reduced my anxiety and lots of other symptoms by doing what I could to optimise my iron and ferritin. It took a very long time (about 21 months of supplementing) because I absorb it so poorly. I now take a maintenance dose of iron to stop it from dropping into my boots again. I also test regularly to make sure I don't overdo it.
