For that a number of us on this forum will need to grow a brand new thyroid gland to replace a non-existent or severely damaged one. Never say never...
I am continually amazed by how many give him the time of day.
Large amounts of celery such as he pushes can, and do, bring significant amounts of chemical residue. And I doubt there is even the possibility of growing enough purely organically to satisfy the demand.
Anyone can go off and collect information from around the internet. Assemble it and merge in whatever else we want to push. Even if much of what is gathered is bona fide, it doesn't make the complete product wholesome.
Classic advertising technique is to take some truth, preferably that is interesting, and sprinkle advertising message liberally.
There are almost countless charlatans out there promoting all manner of snake oils to cure all manner of incurable diseases. Thyroid lack is one area where they try to prosper by giving false hopes to anxious people (and happily take their money while doing so).
I went for a long period of time (2 - 3 years) not eating those things and didn't perceive any change in my health, either when not eating them or when re-introducing. I am vegan so that cuts out all meat, fish, dairy and eggs, and, having read about some people needing to be gluten free with Hashimoto's I added in gluten free by cutting out wheat and most other grains. (I don't eat sugar or other sweeteners either other than just a few times a year when I will share birthday/Christmas cake or something similar, nor alcohol so although I haven't looked at this man's diet perhaps I already fit it - unless he says no coffee). Hope that's of some help, realise now it sounds a bit negative and me, me, sorry, that wasn't the intention at all. Diets worry me, I ended up not feeling too good which I think was from cutting out the grains so not getting enough B vitamins and I'm just a bit concerned about people following false hopes. Also, my endocrinologist says that there has been no link shown between foods consumed and thyroid problems, by which I presume he means no proper controlled trials that have been peer reviewed and found not to have flaws. That in a way is good news because it means we don't need to, in addition to suffering from thyroid problems, also deny ourselves some foods. Not saying he's right btw, just passing on. Such a long ramble, sorry, I need to get out more!!!
Thanks for sharing . Yes me too I followed his celery juice protocol a year and cut out food groups but felt no better for it . Instead now I do a balanced diet but I think his diet was too radical and only worth it if it works aswell .
I ended up doing some of it - but find eggs really helpful so I cannot agree with him on all his points
I took a ton of stick here for pushing a celery based juicing approach and I see many months later the strength of feelings against celery has not moderated - I do understand why, and I have adapted to this by moving to 90% cucumber and 10% celery. This with blueberries strawberries and bananas added in plus protein powder works a real treat for me.
I have closely followed his ideas on juicing for very positive effect - half cucumber a day etc with blueberries
There has been a considerable amount of spam re this person.
For that reason, I shall close this thread.
