How best to start on NDT?

I have recently had my first private phone consultation with an endo. He suggests a 6 week trial of ERFA 30mg plus levo 75 mg. His secretary has sent me a copy of his letter to my GP and an email address and a phone number for a pharmacy in London. I cannot get any reply when I ring and email to find out price and how long it will take. And GP LETTER SAYS 60 mg in contrast to the 30 mg discussed at consultation. I have asked secretary to check and let me know which he meant. He suggested taking it last thing at night as I do now. I will test my bloods and levels before I start. But once I get the level of dose properly sorted, how do I source it?

Assuming you are in the UK, check the list of pharmacies on the ThyroidUK website. You will have to get a prescription from GP or endo.

Ask the secretary ? Is he's prescribed for you surely they'll have a pharmacy they use. If not as others have said thyroid UK have a list of them that stock NDT. I just rang around until I found one that had what I'd been prescribed.

Thanks Amanda. The pharmacy they had recommended were not replying to email or phone but they have now. I wondered whether it was because there was a shortage but it seems not. Hoping to get started next week.
