Yesterday I went to the pharmacy to collect my Levo prescription, to find that they had given me 50mcg Northstar and 25mcg Teva. Despite asking particularly for Mercury, I usually get another make given to me and need to exchange it, so I now open my bag in the Pharmacy before I walk out, anyway yesterday they couldn’t help me and gave me back my paper prescription note and I set off to find another chemist. After the 6th one I gave up, then my hubby suggested the last one in our area and I managed to get my Levo but the pharmacist did say that Mercury is getting harder to get hold of and they were the last boxes that they had. My question is, has anyone here who uses Mercury, managed to find another make that suits them? Northstar, Teva and Wockhardt give me wall to wall headaches 😟 any suggestions would be gladly received.

Alternative to Mercury Pharma Levothyroxine
I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and many in other countries.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines.pdf
This document has information about the available thyroid hormones in the UK and, in less detail, around the world.

I think similar information is also available in the other three nations.

In that case you need to avoid Accord and Almus (which is Accord rebranded for Boots) as these are the same as Northstar (which is Accord rebranded for Lloyds Pharmacy in the 50mcg and 100mcg tablets and Teva in the 25mcg tablets).
ThyroidUK have a list of levothyroxine makes on their main website here (scroll down a bit):

You can click on each one to check out their ingredients to find what's closest to Mercury. You can also contact Mercury themselves to see if there is a problem and if they can tell you where to obtain their brand and I see that Helvella has given you the contact information.
