Raised antibodies... I’m confused as to why both my antibodies aren’t raised? Is this normal for Hashimoto’s? Can anyone help please?
Thanks a million 😊

Your TG antibodies are above range
Were TPO antibodies high in the past
Are you on strictly gluten free diet?
This often reduces TPO antibodies
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamin D and ferritin last tested
See previous post you were folate deficient
What are you currently taking for low folate
supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial.
This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast
Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)
Or Thorne Basic B is another option that contain folate, but is large capsule
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

These were my results from last October. I have stopped taking the folic acid now as I have completed a 4 month course, I was suffering with terrible nausea and dizziness (am) and didn’t realise until I stopped that it was probably the folic acid causing it! I’m not gluten free although I do try to minimise my intake....I’ve had a rollercoaster 6 months! I can only assume it was due to my GP reducing my Levo dose ( 75mcg) in July/August last year as she felt I was overmedicated (my TSH was 0.25) how foolish of me 🤦🏻♀️ I increased it again in November back to 100mcg. I’ve gained quite a lot of weight recently hence my TSH still being in the 1’s, I’m hoping once I lose some weight my TSH will come back down rather than increasing my Levo dose?
So you might be better using Vitamin B complex with folate rather than just taking folic acid
Many people can’t process folic acid
Vitamin D too low. Aiming for minimum around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better
How much vitamin D are you currently taking
Gluten free diet needs to be strictly gluten free to be affective
Never agree to dose reduction unless Ft3 is over range
When adequately treated many Hashimoto’s patients will have TSH under bottom of range.
TG antibodies tend to reduce the lower TSH is
Thanks SlowDragon I’d be lost without you and this forum..I just wish I could find a menopause one too! I’m low in testosterone according to my blood results.
I’m currently taking Vitabiotics 2000 iu vitamin D3 daily and Igennus triple magnesium complex (recommended dose is 3 per day but I’m just taking 1)
Thanks again for all your help and advice it’s invaluable 😊
