When I had my latest Medichecks blood draw the nurse taking the blood mentioned she’d heard that they had been experiencing delays due to having one of their labs closed for failing an inspection. Obviously I have no idea if this is actually true!
I’ve used Medichecks 4 times now for thyroid panels (roughly each three months since last July) and on the first three, TPO antibodies were slightly elevated out of range. The NHS have tested antibodies once during this time period and they were within range. I appreciate antibodies fluctuate and lab ranges differ. On my latest Medichecks test result last month my TPO antibodies now fall within range. I noticed that for the first time the results state ‘method used for anti/TPO - Roche Modular’.
I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this change recently? I won’t lie it’s made me suspicious regarding my previous Medichecks results?!

It's not that they have changed their testing methods, they are currently using a different lab (The Doctor's Laboratory) due to a problem with Eurofins County Pathology.
Thanks Susie. I found the Medichecks statement by Googling after I posted / should have checked first!! My husband has worked in UKAS accredited labs. He says their QMS will also dictate the analytical methodology followed in the laboratory so ultimately it would be impossible to say without further details of the audit failure(s) that you could be 100% confident in test results. If it were possible to see the full report (which would obviously be huge!) you maybe be able to gain further insight but clearly that’s not going to happen. I must say this leaves me feeling very disappointed and unsure of my past results given the amount I’ve spent on then and the fact that I was planning to show them to my private endo in a follow up appointment soon (she is the one who advised me to take the panels). From what I’m reading there also seems to be a significant disparity in results from different instrumentation between different labs. So I don’t really know what to think tbh!
