Under active thyroid T4 test 30
Do you mean TSH is 30 ? that would show you are undermedicated and needing a dose increase. If your T4 is 30 that would mean you are over overmedicated
Nanny1086,
Welcome to our forum.
I notice on a previous post of yours to another forum that you suffer from internal vibrations. I had these too and it felt like I was plugged into a fridge! These feelings are common in members on this forum and I think result from long term low thyroid hormone and adrenals issues.
If you type your results out including the name of the test (ie FT4 or TSH) and include the ranges which are the numbers in brackets, members will be able to give a more informed comment.
Hi Radd, I appreciate your swift reply ,,, unfortunately I was only told that my T4 level was high ,,,, I will send them an email and request the full readings , I’m interested in finding out more about the connection to the internal vibrations,
Always request PRINTED copies of test results or register for online access to test results
Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine at each prescription
Which brand
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

Thankyou for the imformation I really appreciate it , I have had my bloods done again today and I will ask for copy of the results , Yes I did have the test first thing in the morning and I had nothing to eat or drink , I always have had the same brand of medication , Levothyroxene ,I was started on 50 that was over 20 years ago ,,, and I built up to 100 over the years ,,,steady on 100 for approx 8 years, increased by 25 after previous blood tests , I had a full blood count , thyroid , and anaemia ? .i will get back on line when I get the results , in the meantime , the vibrations and buzzing have got worse and after speaking to my GP she thinks I could have depression/anxiety ,,,, ( I’m not a person that has suffered either in the past ). I was also sent vitamin D pills from the government due to my poor lung condition making me extremely vulnerable ,
But when she gets the blood test results would like me to have a face to face appointment with her at the surgery , thanks again ,
Government dose of vitamin D is likely far too low
With hypothyroidism we frequently need higher dose that many people
Come back with new post once you get your results
Essential to also test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
