Swollen? thyroid once a month or less

Hi - please give me your take on this. Every so often my thyroid feels as if it's swollen and I can feel it when swallowing a bit like those lobes on liver - that's how it feels. After 3 days or so it subsides. It doesn't hurt but it's usually accompanied by slightly enlarges glands above, under the jaw bone. I'm on NDT Armour and have moved my dose up slightly from 45mg to 65mg as it was said on here that I'm underdosed. I haven't yet had another blood test.

ZeilaJee,

You are describing a classic Hashi attack probably encouraged by thyroid activity, and a result of being under-medicated. NDT can also be intolerant of inadequate nutrients and iron levels.

What measures are you taking to reduce your elevated antibodies levels? Are you gluten/dairy free? Are you supplementing selenium?

You are still medicating a very low dose of NDT. Ensure to test six weeks after raising your dose and post results complete with ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to comment.
