My TSH is 0.01 mU/L

My TSH is 0.01 mU/L, T4 is 16.2, T3 is 4.61. GP says all is normal. I welcome any comments because I don't think it can be normal.

Is that Free T3 & Free T4 & can you add ranges?

How much levo do you currently take?

Have you have folate, ferritin, vitamin D and B12 tested ?

From previous post you had Hyperthyroidism, subtotal thyroidectomy, 16 years later another period of hyper then RAI before hypo?

With long periods of hyper and 2 major medical interventions it’s likely the TSH will not recover and function as it would in a healthy person. Likely your TSH will always be discordant with your Thyroid levels.

Ensure the Free T4 and FT3 is always accessed and not TSH alone as many GPs do go by TSH alone and reduce replacement Levo if TSH low, so saying all ok, might actually be progress!

What is making you say that it can’t be normal? Are you experiencing symptoms?

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine

Which brand

Where these tests done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test?

Please add ranges on these results (figures in brackets after each result)

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Is this how you do your tests?
