Hi all, new to this forum and new to having a crazy overactive thyroid! Got a few questions re: carbimazole if anyone has any experience I'd love to chat!
1) I wake up with massive headaches, take meds. (20mg)
, headache worsens, then fades.
2) recently Ive had fever like symptoms (36.7 temp) - should I contact doc?
Thanks!

Have you had any other symptoms like a really sore throat? I think it is more difficult with coronavirus as you don't know what is what. Any sign of infection you should notify your doc but more to look out for mouth ulcers/v sore throat
Can I please ask have you had your antibody blood test run and do you have the blood test result showing over range, positive, TSI ( might read as a stimulating ) antibody and or a TR ab ( might read as a blocking ) antibody result ?
Do you have any blood test results from diagnosis showing your levels of TSH, T3 and T4 before you were started on the anti thyroid drug Carbimazole ?
You are legally entitled to copies of all medical blood tests and suggest, as if with Graves, it's a long road and you need to start reading, and understanding your blood test results and the implications of the mediation.
can you please look through all your copies, or request copies of the full blood test results at diagnosis and obtain copies of the antibody test results.
Hi I have been on carbimazole for over 15 yearsI was on a high dose and throughout time I am now on the very minimum every other day
Like all meds, there will be the likelihood of reaction but personally if it was me I would let your GP know in case the dosage has to be altered (It can be trial and error)
You could try taking in the morning by the way? I do if this helps.
I dont know how long you have had an overactive thyroid ?
How long have you been on carbimazole?
So yes notify your GP anyway so at least it goes on your records
Try taking it in the morning with a good glass of water and something
by the way getting back to youit may also be that you need a betablocker because my thyroid initially was troublesome and the GP put me on this as well as carbimazole....heart racing causes bad heads etc
