Someone mentioned on here my folate is low and suggested methyl folate.
I need to ask my gp nut I have feeling he won't give me answer.
A yo e knows how much methyl folate person can take along with vitamins containing folic acid 400mcg?
Thank you x

your results show your folate level to be 19.8 (2.6-17.3) on 11th December.
If that is the result you are referring to your folate level isn't low, it's over range.
In your first post on the forum a month ago, SlowDragon replied with
B12 and folate are Goldilocks vitamins for pregnancy
You don’t want too little or too much
400mcg folic acid / methyfolate is a normal dose for maintenance. Unless you have tested since 11th December and know that your folate level has plummeted then you don't need any higher dose than that.
Methylfolate is said to be a better form rather than folic acid, this is because folic acid is synthetic and the body has to convert it to folate. So a supplement containing methylfolate would be better than one containing folic acid.
Sorry I just looked at the results and it's ferritin I think i am getting low on.
But taking iron supplements...
My TSH is still 0.005...not sure what that means doctors didn't comment on the fact is that low...
My t3 has Gone down since I have been taking one ptu 50 mcg twice a day.
T3 is now 7.2
T4 is 21.
Can't wait for my Feb telephone app with the endocrinology I hope I will finally get a professional answer how they are going to stabilize the levels... As at the moment its just blood tests and ptu... Which I ma not sure I should be on as I am clearly showing blood test to be hashimoto's not hyper thyroid.... 😅
I would never have as good understanding as if people on here wouldn't help me. I had learned so much in short time Xx 🙏💖
As per my LAST reply in previous post

High TPO antibodies almost certainly confirms Hashimoto’s (autoimmune HYPOTHYROID thyroid disease)
Hashimoto’s frequently starts with transient hyperthyroid results and symptoms
PTU is NOT correct treatment for Hashimoto’s
PTU is used to treat autoimmune HYPERTHYROID disease also called Graves’ disease.
To confirm Graves’ disease you MUST have TSI or Trab antibodies tested
Graves’ disease can have slightly raised TPO antibodies......but results look more typical of Hashimoto’s
We see many early stage Hashimoto’s patients misdiagnosed as Graves’ disease if TSI or Trab antibodies aren’t tested
In Hashimoto’s as the thyroid is attacked and cell walls breakdown this can release high levels of thyroid hormones. It’s not true hyperthyroidism. After each attack the thyroid becomes a little more hypothyroid
Yes well I am aware and read you clear but sadly my doctor doesn't and I have to just wait for my endo appointment as I have no other option. When I asked for antibodies I been tested for one only from my results.... I can ask to be tested for other antibodies... But doctor is no expert in this field.....
