If you are still taking NDT and your T3 is high in range and you feel well - it's ok :

Without more information on what medication you are taking, your dose and the time lag from last dose to blood draw is difficult to say anything sensible.

Taking 1 gramme thyroid-s 10hours from last dose to blood draw, Ft3 6.7,TSH. 0.63

How are you feeling - have your symptoms of hypothyroidism reduced ?

Never had any hypo symptoms even when first diagnosed and TSH 12, also no symptoms when FT3 was over range Don't know how I'm supposed to feel...I just feel as I always have. Started levo on advice of dr. not being told it was "for ever"

So you feel no different to when on Levothyroxine and neither option does anything for you ?

Why are taking this then ?

Because Dr. said so! Silly me and apparently once one has ingested thyroid hormone not advised to stop!!! was not told this before I started

p.s. had not outer third eyebrows but as never remember having was not bothered . They grew in a bit after I started levo, more so after I started thyroid-s (Also pubic hair increased dramatically on thyroid-s - sorry if this too much info) so i thought thyroid replacement must be doing something even if just making me more hirsute!!!

Yes I know as we have spoken of this issue before :

If you find no benefit taking NDT and your only " change in circumstances " is your hair growth, I guess this thyroid hormone replacement more appropriate than Levothyroxine but once your stock of NDT is all used up - maybe go back on Levothyroxine, or just stop, and see what happens.

If you feel no different, why did you decide to stop at 1 grain ?

Stopped at 1grain because I had symptoms of hyper. i.e.FT3 was 10+ if I took more - however did not feel any difference! I think originally was put on levo a bit prematurely, if i had known what I know now (benefit of hindsight) I would have waited and retested first. Did what dr. "ordered " was not told thyroid replacement was for life. I am a bit of a coward and at my age and stage in life do not want to fall out with dr.

Totally understand - my T3 level has also been up and over range and I feel no different - one does wonder how they came to these guideline numbers - maybe they want us all to be miserable with a T3 that gives us the insidious symptoms of hypothyroidism ???

Perhaps!...who knows?

Not if you are on no meds or levo, but possibly OK if you are on T3 only or even NDT. Some people need higher FT4 and others are fine with it below range as long as FT3 is high enough for them to feel well.

Thanks, FT3 6.7, which is close to the top of range. - 6.8 (I was on 1 grain thyroid-s), so am now trying 0.75 as i don't want FT3 to go over FT4 10.64, Tsh 0.63
