Can is cause late or skipped period? My TSH went up to 45.000 while on medication. Got prescribed 100mcg of levo and 5mcg of I think a T3 hormone. Just started on Monday but running late on cycle and nervous especially with everything else I’ve got going on.

Hi. It looks like a missed period is the usual cause of hypothyroidism. It might take several weeks to get your periods back. It is usual to go without periods for up to 6 months in a row in severe forms of hypothyroidism. You might be asked for a blood test in a month or two to check if your TSH levels have improved. In case they are still not into the normal range your dosage may be changed.
