Hi guys does anyone have irregular periods? 1am 39 and last month my period was 4 days early this month iam 7 days late. I know there can be a few reasons for this one being hypothyroidism. All my bloods have been done and iam within range not optimal but pretty good. Can this still be a thyroid thing if my bloods are Ok? Xx

Menstrual cycle
We can have clinical symptoms before our TSH is high enough to be diagnosed and prescribed levothyroxine.
"Bloods o.k." doesn't give sufficient information. Doctors will say o.k. if they are somewhere in the range. Whereas if hypothyroid we need a TSH of 1 or lower, Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the range.
You need to get a print-out of your latest results with the ranges and post. If you don't have them to hand today put them on a new post.

Also B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate have to be optimal.
Well if your periods are mucked up then you are not "ok". All the systems in the body so all the hormones work together. You need to get your thyroid hormones optimal.
Hi
I had irregular periods while dealing with Grave's Disease. Currently, I'm 44 years old and I my thyroid has been stable. I'm not on any medication. I had RAI Treatment in 2014 and I was unofficially diagnosed at age 35.
My periods were normal. Then when I started to get all the symptoms of having Grave's Disease (Hyper Thyroid) they changed. There were months I missed. Other months, it would be a normal period. Sometimes it would last like a normal period. Other times it would only be for a couple of days. Just after I had Radio Active Iodine Treatment, I ended up with what I thought was a period and it turned into 4+ weeks. This caused me to be Anemic.
I was immediately sent to Gynecologist by my specialist and she diagnosed me as having Menorrhagia. I ended up having: an Endometrial Ablation. I haven't had a period for 1 year and 6 months since this procedure.
My advise to you is to see a Gynecologist as soon as possible and explain to your Gynecologist that you also have a Thyroid Issue. I didn't do this. I just left things as they were. I mean, what woman wouldn't like to not have a period for months at a time? Well, in the end I paid up for that. I'm not saying this will happen to you, but I wished I'd have had it all checked out sooner. Maybe I wouldn't have ended up having Menorrhagia or an ablation.
I have a blog that I documented a lot of my struggles with Grave's Disease/ Thyroid Problems. The thyroid regulates a lot of our bodies functions and affects other stuff that we think may not having anything to do with our Thyroid. Check it out. All input is accepted:

Hi - my periods have always been irregular. Absence of periods after having my second son was one of the symptoms that led my doctor to discover I had myxoedema (severely underactive thyroid). There have been times when I became more regular when on the correct dosage, but I don't think it has ever been exactly 28 days every month! I'm now peri-menopausal, so my periods have taken on a life of their own - have a period, next one 5.5 months later, then just over a month, then 8 months later...........
Yep, mine are very regular (I started using the Natural Cycles app recently as a way of tracking them) until the point that I go hyper or hypo and it's uncannily accurate as a way of reflecting that state (get them more frequently when hyper and the dose needs to be reduced, and less frequently when hypo).
Were a proper set of thyroid tests done? Or just the TSH?
