Hi, I'm a Hashi thyroid patient. I have been suffering with rashes which seem to be related to the sun. I was referred to Dermatology who performed an ANA test to rule out Lupus. My results show positive for ANA and anti-La antibodies but negative for ds-DNA. I have no clue what this may indicate - sjögren's syndrome - lupus, none of these?? I haven't had my next clinic appointment yet for an explanation but am very worried. Anyone else had this test or similar results that may understand this????

I was ANA positive but negative the others and was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis.

Looks like you have sjögren's and not lupus.
Mmmm yes, I was thinking along those lines. Will have to see what Consultant says - he may or may not order further tests yet I haven't had my follow up clinic appointment.
I don’t know about further tests (maybe biopsy)? I was diagnosed with sjögren's years ago I was offered Restasis and declined I didn’t want to be dependent on an eye drop forever, its gotten worse when my thyroid was removed.
Sorry to hear that. The only symptom I've suffered with is vaginal dryness so far. Only recently I have noticed the rims of my eyes feeling irritated or sore but usually only after waking on a morning. At other times of day I don't notice much apart from blurred vision but I had put that down to the insufficient B12.
