Hello to all.

I used to take thyroids S which was good for me been diagnosed with Hashimoto 2004 was on levo 125mcg for 11 years managed to lose weight but was very unwell with fibro very low vitaminD GERD and more... self treating with thyroid S since 2015 (taking 2.5 to 3 grains) then i could buy 1000 tablets for £30 wow... Now unable to get thyroid s. Usual pbs with GP because of very low THS 0.1. I looked at real thyroid from Vietnam some people like it i did not order it as it contains 65mg of kelp and i occasionally took kelp tablet 100 mg which after a week or so would make me suffer from painful thyroid and angina. Now maybe i should have reduce my Thyroid S but kelp seems a bit dodgy for people with Hashimoto... Started myself on metavive 3 days ago first reduced thyroid S to 2 for 10 days and now taking 2 metavive II and one thyroid S will wait a month and see how i feel... The increasing cost is becoming a problem metavive if i needed 5 capsules a day would cost me more than thyroid s now but it is availble and arrives in 2/3 days.. Waiting now for appointment with GP a new GP the last one is not interested in me since i refused to stop taking NTD lol... I also recently sent a complaint to Nice for misinformation on Thyroid research on their site no reply as yet.

I have swapped from thai thiroyd to metavive11 - very happy, it seems to work very well, I was overmedicated when I went from 3 thiroyd to 3 metavive11 - so now on two metavive11 and doing bloods next week after six weeks. I would be surprised if you needed 5 metavive11. Good luck x

Thank you for your reply let me know how you are doing i thought metavive 11 was 1/2 a grain but may be because of the fact it is more natural and also the nucleotides absorbtion may be better. Will post a few updates as i think it will help everyone.

At least you found a GP who seems willing to help mine 2 years ago ask the receptionist to call me telling me "Dr P said your THS is very suppressed and he is requesting that you stop taking what you are taking at the moment immediately..." To which i said tell Dr P that I won't i never felt that good in years so I will carry on... Never heard from him after that i was not given annual review or other bood test when I became ill with Neuropathy along my back and down my left arm (i suspect i had internal shingle) I have seen a trainee doctor, never had my flue jab either... Then 3 weeks ago the surgery contacted me for asthma review and anual review i have then requested not to be seen by Dr P who became my Dr because my original Dr left... I will update on metavive as a replacement of Thyroid S to give an indication of the dosage i was taking 3 thyroid s a day but forgot at least once a week sometimes twice lol still i was probably slightly over medicated. I hope metavive will prove to be a good alternative. Hope you find a solution as levo seems to bring more problems than it solves.

An update about Metavive 🤓After trying 1 grain thyroid S (was on 2.5/3 grains of thyroidS for nearly 5 years and likely slightly over medicated) and 2 metavive II for 4 days i felt too fuzzy and decided to take just one of each did try to had 1 metavive I in the afternoon but I am too forgetful so droped the idea. Because I have a blood test booked on the 10 of December I have now started to switch to metavive fully so for the next 2 weeks I will use one Metavive II and one Metavive I and see how I feel and what the blood test will say. My GP told me that they will test T4 and T3 only if my TSH is abnormal (good old TSH👻 still alive and kicking lol) I think I will probably end up having 2 Metavive II after those 2 weeks and will take it from there may be I will have to add one Metavive I after a couple of months will have to be patient (not my forte😋) and watch my heart rate and my usual lack of sleep...🦉🦉🦉🥴 😁... Look after yourself all of you will post again after blood test of if I need to increase my dose sometimes soon. 🔜

I got my bloods back today after six weeks on metavive11 - (was on 3 thiroyd/day now on 2 metavive11/Day) very happy mid range FT3, low FT4 (as normal for me) and suppressed tsh. Just remember it takes six weeks for each dose change to take effect and show in blood tests. You will want to choose a dose and stick to it without changing around. Good luck x

Thank you so much for this feed back As I said in my previous post I am now taking 1 metavive II and One Metavive I, as soon as I wake up and to be fair today I feel amazingly well I always felt with Thyroid S that I was a bit over medicated but as soon I had tried to drop the dose I was feeling tired especially late afternoon but now 2 days after taking only Metavive (i know it is early days) I feel fantastic sharp thinking but not buzzing which is a lovely feeling🙂 and very reassuring as it seems that Metavive will work nicely for me going to keep going on this dosage for the next 2 weeks which should correspond to my blood test results then will see if there is a need to up the dose to 2 metavive II a day. Will keep you posted thank you your feedback so useful. I feel that many people should try a lower dose of Metavive first as it seems to be better absorbed by the body thanks to your post that is what I have done instead of jumping the gun🤠 and going on 4 metavive II a day. Take care.

Hi all of you hope you are keeping well and safe.I thought I should make an update as I had my test results so after 2 weeks of 1 Metavive II plus 1 Metavive I was feeling pretty undermedicated very tired late afternoon put a couple of pounds on, headaches, and getting confused. (for a week before that I was taking 1 thyroid S and of 1 metavive II)

My blood test came back as follow:

THS: 0.01 miu/L (Range: 0.35-3.5)

free T4 10.8 pmol/L (Range: 7.5-21.1)

free T3 3.1 pmol/L (Range 3.8-6)

THS completely suppressed to be expected and very low T3 plus rather low T4.

I am now taking 2 Metavive II early morning 1 hour before breakfast and will have a telephone appointment with Dr G if he does not propose another blood test i will do one privately in around 5 weeks time to see my T3 and T4 level with 2 Metavive II a day (this except if I feel again seriously undermedicated so I would try adding 1 Metavive I to make 2 Metavive II and 1 Metavive I mid January and will wait until mid February for a new blood test)

Would be happy to have any feedback on this as it is the first time I am on Metavive.

Also I managed to log online and see all my past results except for once when i was on levo where my T4 was 26 i was always in range with a THS all over the place but not completely suppressed until I had started NDT (my THS was 11.8 when first diagnosed)

My previous Test before this one was in June 2019 (was on 2.5/ 3 Thyroids S then) when my GP Dr P ask the receptionist to call me to order me to stop what I was taking immediately wow!!I never heard of him after that.. and my results were THS <0.001 (0.35-3.5) T4:10 (8-21) and T3: 3.8 (3.8-6) my T3 were rather low so was was he getting so excited about!!!

Hope my journey with Metavive will Help someone else. Let me know more about yours.

🙂

Hey Starsw - only just saw this. Looking at your results they are very similar to what they were in June 19 - this doesn't help much, as it was so long ago, but it still gives a reasonable baseline as to what is normal for you. I worry less about low T4 than I do about low T3 when on ndt. My results on metavive are also similar to what they were on thiroyd. I will also try raising by 1 metavive1 sometime early 2021. I will test again prior to doing so.

Not what you're looking for?
