Hi there

I have Hashimoto's and I have had the flu jab for the last 6-8 years. I had flu 10 years ago and I was in bed for a week and ill for a further two weeks. I started getting invited to have the flu jabs following my bout of the flu because I have a heart murmur ( this was quite a few years before my Hashimoto's was diagnosed ) I have never had any side effects other than a sore arm for a few days following the jab.

I hope you are able to confidently come to a decision, do you take vitamin D and C to help boost your immune system, I do so that may also help if you are unsure about the flu jab. :)

I agree on the vit d & c, supplements. 'low vitamin D levels are associated with a higher risk of death from coronavirus' -theguardian.com

I haven't had the flu jab for years but I did have it when I used to work for the NHS. It doesn't protect from all strains and sometimes I would still get the flu.

Hi, I had Covid back in April. Mine was not that bad. In fact, it was a lot easier than some bad cold I'd had.

I am pleased you didn't have it that bad and I do wonder why it affects some more than others. I think I might have had it back in January and I was ill for 8 weeks and ended up in A & E. I started a thread about it back then and here is a link to it.

Sorry to hear you were so ill. Yes, Covid is a strange one.

Hi BeeGee1962

I had Covid back in April, some strange symptoms but not too badly affected. I do supplement Vit D so, maybe this helped. I cannot have the flu jab as I am allergic to quite a few antibiotics (used in production of vaccines) so I cannot help on that front.

Thank you so much everyone that puts my mind at rest and I will definitely make sure I take vitamin D
