This interview with endochrinologist Dr. Brittany Henderson is interesting and well worth listening to. One point she makes is that suppressed TSH when taking NDT can be corrected by changing the timing of the dosage. She says that TSH, although a pituitary hormone responding to thyroid hormone levels, also acts on fat metabolism.

Interesting podcast
What is the impact of TSH on fat metabolism? I know a lot of us struggle to shift weight and this could be an interesting nugget of info.
I’m hard of hearing (possibly related to thyroid) so struggle to listen to podcasts
Try listening the bit from 6 mins. Unfortunately, the quality of the phone call is really poor and, at times, there are bits that are impossible to hear.
The main point was that TSH needs to be optimised as it acts in the fat cells and in lipolysis. It also acts on the mitochondria and is involved in energy production and making ATP. Also, it is involved in skin health (but this bit is hard to hear). She says that if the thyroid medication is optimised then the TSH should not be suppressed.
I have never heard about any of this before in relation to TSH. If it is true then this is important for us all as so many of us have problems with shifting fat and having low energy. I think a lot more research needs to be done to show whether the info is correct. I am always a bit dubious if this is the only person to to report these facts.
