Recently been to the consultant who think i have a thyroid issue.
Only thing is, i don't really have any of the usual symptoms of a thyroid issue, my main concern is that i have a lump on my lower left neck, just above my collarbone.
Most of the time, the lump is basically not visible, however, when i swallow the lump appears in what look like an x shape and it feels like my sternohyoid (I think - Muscle from my collar bone to top of my throat) sticks out significantly and pulls the other main muscle in my neck out too.
Has anyone had a symptom like this with there Thyroid or could it be something else instead?
Thanks

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Ask GP to include testing vitamin levels and thyroid antibodies
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
