Hypothyroid test

Hello,

I'm going to request my periodic blood test tomorrow for Hypothyroid . My doctor is very accommodating with respect to which tests I can have. Which ones should I ask for please?

The full thyroid panel includes

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

and as your doctor is very accommodating, also ask for

vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

All blood draws should be at the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo (or whatever you take) so that the TSH will be at its highest.

Always get a print-out of your results (with the ranges). Labs vary and so do the ranges.

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Important to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS

If taking any iron supplements stop a week before testing ferritin levels
