Metavive 11

I have to say, I think Metavive 11 may have saved my life! I feel so much better than I did a few weeks ago! I hadn't heard of it 'til I saw it on here, and was a little dubious at first, having been on Naturthroid and Armour for many years previously. However I think this stuff is even better, or maybe it's months of being levo previously!

Rabbit.

Good to hear that you are doing well on it. Some members do but for others they find it doesn't work well. I hope you continue to feel good :) .

Thanks Susie! Hopefully it's the Metavive that's working and continues to!

I was one of those, I was on it for two weeks when I run out of Thyroid S mid pandemic and I felt absolutely terrible.

That's great. I have also been on metavive11 for a couple of weeks now. Definitely working, if anything a little too well I had to drop my dose a little. I have a few questions, what were you taking before and what dose? And what dose of metavive11 have you settled on? Many thanks!

Hi, good question! Previously I was on 4grains Naturthroid, then Armour. Started M11 slowly, now taking 2 in the am and 2 in the pm. Hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the reply. How long are you on the metavive11 now? How do you know its working for you, do you keep an eye on your resting heart rate or temp? I am feeling good on it too - my rhr is good on it. It dropped like a stone when I tried the useless thyroactive.

I just go on how I feel, and I was feeling dead when they stopped my NDT and put me on Levo in Jan/Feb. Started Metavive 11 about a month ago. I've had hashi's for around 37 years, the old levo I had for the first 25 or so meant I had menopause at 41, partnership breakdown around same time, clinical depression, and eventually became homeless (my kids had to go and live with their dad), amongst other things.

I started NDT after a massive struggle with GP, around 10 yrs ago and have been SO much better since on the thyroid front!

Good luck with the MV11!

You have had a tough time of it alright. I have hashimotos, undiagnosed for years, also early meno. Doing better now, thai thiroyd was brilliant for me, so very pleased now that metavive seems to be working for both of us!!

How is the metavive going for you now?

2pookies profile image
2pookies in reply to reliablerebel

Hi Reliablerebel, truth is I'm really not sure! I've tried adding some t3, because I started to get symptoms again (night sweats, depression & anxiety). That seemed to help. Still waiting for endo appt!

How are you doing?

reliablerebel profile image
reliablerebel in reply to 2pookies

Doing well thanks, I swapped from 3 thiroyd/day to 3metavive11/day and ended up overmedicated. So dropped back to 2 met11/day and doing good now. Bloods next week to see if I need to try and raise a little. IF so I will buy some metavive1 - I cannot be faffed trying to open a capsule of metavive11 and split it in two. At least I know it works!! And I am taking less than I thought I would have to so saving on expense.

How are you doing on the Metavive 11 ?

reliablerebel profile image
reliablerebel in reply to Blackpanther46

Doing great thanks - blood tests a fortnight were good, pretty much the same as I was when taking 3 thiroyd/day (now on two metavive11/day) - Have bought some metavive1 and will start trying to raise with one of them. Just a bit wary, having overmedicated once when trying to take three metavive11. But just so happy they are working and that I have found a replacement!! Did you start taking them?

Blackpanther46 profile image
Blackpanther46 in reply to reliablerebel

Im about to take them but not sure on how to start. Im taking a glandular Thyrogold thats said to be equal to 3 grains. So think I'll start on 1 x metavive 11 and add 1 x metavive 1 in a week or 2 weeks maybe.

reliablerebel How many grains are in a thiroyd tablet?

reliablerebel profile image
reliablerebel in reply to Blackpanther46

a thiroyd tablet was one grain. So I was on 3 grains ndt/day. Now on two metavive11/day. Probably will end up on two m11 and one m1 - also is thyrogold bovine or porcine? And how did you get on with it?

Blackpanther46 profile image
Blackpanther46 in reply to reliablerebel

Thyrogold is bovine . I got on ok with it but I can’t find out anywhere how to swop from that to metavive . Maybe I should start low and increase every week by a metavive 1

reliablerebel profile image
reliablerebel in reply to Blackpanther46

I thought it was bovine. Some people actually take both. I decided on the porcine because that's what thiroyd was. So you can choose to stay on bovine glandular like you have been on, if you feel the thyrogold was suiting you?

Blackpanther46 profile image
Blackpanther46 in reply to reliablerebel

I’ve gone for the porcine one. I’ll start with 2 metavive 11 tablets and increase with 1 metavive 1 then again if I’m ok on it . How long did you hold on your dose before doing a test? I was going to hold on a dose for 3 weeks then test

reliablerebel profile image
reliablerebel in reply to Blackpanther46

I waited the full six weeks from after I settled on the dose (2 met11). It takes a minimum of six weeks for levels to settle. Also I live in Ireland so cannot avail of the uk medichecks etc and it costs a lot to get tested. So didn't want to waste my money. I think your plan of starting on two met11 is sound - I had symptoms of overmedication when I tried 3 met111 - insomnia, high rhr and super sensitive skin, thought there were things crawling through my hair (there were'nt!!)

Blackpanther46 profile image
Blackpanther46 in reply to reliablerebel

Ok so am I right in thinking you settled on 2 x metavive 11 for 6 weeks which gave you the same blood test results as when you were on 3 x thiroyd so technically you have taken a grain less on the metavive 11 but with the same blood test results? So metavive must be stronger ?

There’s a cheaper test by monitor my health that’s £29 for all 3 levels . Nit sure if you can get in Ireland but I do that one as much cheaper

reliablerebel in reply to Blackpanther46

Yes that's exactly right. But I could probably do with a small raise. But I feel great, no hypo symptoms. Temp good, rhr good and no aches and pains. But I realize we are all different and what works for one does not necessarily work for another

reliablerebel profile image

And yes I can get let's get checked but 24 HR courier to UK is at least 72euro!!!

Hi 2pookies How are you on metavive 11 now? Im taking 3 x metavive 11 and did well initially but my basal temp has dropped now so ive just added another metavive 1. Any tips on how to increase dose?

2pookies profile image
2pookies in reply to Blackpanther46

I found reducing the dose and topping up with t3 has really helped. Good luck.
