Has anyone ordered vitamin D, 3000 iu from Nutravita? If so, did you find it good quality? Are they reliable? Before I order?

If your vitamin D is low your GP should get you vitamin D for free on prescription. Especially important now with covid-19 that our vitamin D levels are good. Its common for hashimoto’s patients to have low vitamin D as you probably know.

Prescription Vitamin d are full of fillers and rarely the correct dose they are either too low or weekly larges doses which are useless. Vitamin d is daily or level goes up and down. Would you eat weekly.

In softgels with olive or coconut oil only

they don't prescribe it any more they give you a booster and then you have to maintain it , well that is what i was told

True Hibs and Megan

I’ve had a melanoma and have to be particularly on the ball with my vitamin D... even so, GP will still only prescribe ‘horse tablets’ which in my opinion are full of more rubbish than vitamin D

I have just bought some on Amazon ... they were recommended to me by a thyroid patient .

'' Vita Bright '' High strength Vitimin D3

Cholecalciferol

4,000 iu softgels

After taking a 60000 iu booster of D3 from my Dr .... a relief Dr told me I have to now buy them myself if I want to maintain my levels as the NHS is cutting down on giving people prescriptions for the things you can buy without a prescription !

Considering I was actually deficient I was shocked because I have taken vit D 3 winter and summer for 20 years.

This is the first time I have ever been tested after asking my new GP at a different Practice .

The one with K2 added, this one nutravita.co.uk/products/vi...

Ingredients: Bulking Agent (Microcrystalline Cellulose), Vegetable Capsule Shell (HydroxyPropylMethylCellulose), Vitamin D3 (Cholecaliferol)(Acacia Gum, Sugar Cane, Sunflower Oil, Starch), Vitamin K2 (MK7)(Dicalcium Phosphate), Anti-Caking Agents (Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide).

Personally I wouldn't use it with all those excipients, I'd go for Doctor's Best D3 softgels with just D3 and extra virgin olive oil, then buy a good K2 separately that uses the all-trans form of K2 rather than the cis-form, eg Vegavero or Vitabay.

Before you order, I'd point you to my reply on this thread:

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... - the CAUTION in that reply is that those with only a CALCIDIOL test result AND presentation of chronic inflammation-causing or autoimmune-type conditions had also BETTER consider the level of the active hormone CALCITRIOL ( - which could be 'too high', . . . . or 'high enough' already).

The ref. therein is: fearlessparent.org/suppleme... - in which the described biochemistry is correct I feel, in this 2014 article with its list of references.

Best wishes,

Sid :)
