I have swollen lymph nodes and much pain in shoulders and very tired. The endo does not feel the symptoms are related to thyroid.

I have just started gluten and dairy free so dont know if this will help or do supplements help?

i am so exhausted i cant change endo as hes the only one on the island (cyprus ) that i can access

I am grateful for any advice

Welcome to the forum.

These may be thyroid-related if you are under-medicated. Do you have any recent blood results to share - including reference ranges, as these vary from lab to lab. Ideally you would have TSH, free T4, free T3, ferritin, folate, vit D and B12 tested. These will also show if you would benefit from supplements. Assume you currently take nothing except your thyroxin...

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially as you have Hashimoto’s

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?

When were vitamin levels last tested?

Ask Endo or doctor to test vitamin levels

What are your most recent thyroid results and ranges?

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Suggest you get thyroid and vitamins retested 6-8 weeks after changing to gluten and dairy free diet

I was taking 150mg per day and my TSH rose to 26. I live in France and thyroxin there is called LEVOTHYROX; My endocrinologist simply changed my prescription to a product named EUTHYRAL. My TSH has been normal and stable for more than 4 years now. Explore with your endocrinologist. Hope this maybe of some use to you. Good luck.

You need to sign onto Thyroid UK...I think there is a charge now, but they are the experts. I have an underactive Thyroid, and it does make you very tired at times.

There is no charge to look at the Thyroid UK website :

thyroiduk.org/

Thyroid UK is a charity and it needs members to survive. There is a charge to become a member of the charity - it is entirely voluntary though. Donations are very welcome too.
