Close to expiry or expired T3

In the process of moving home and have been sorting through cupboards. Come across a bottle of Cynomel that expired March 2020 (100 tabs @ 25mcg) and 3 plastic bottles of Mayne Pharma due to expire in October (100 tabs @ 5mcg). I doubt I can take that much T3 before October and may have a bottle left over.

Does anyone know if expired T3 is ok to take, would it have lost any efficiency or should they be thrown away once past the expiry date?

I am currently using T3 with an expiry date of June 2019 and it hasn't lost it's potency. I have a stash and as I use them they are all going to be out of date to a degree.

I'm sure if you use them you will be able to tell if they have lost potency, but I think you have a good few months, at least, of use in them.

Oh that's perfect SeasideSusie thank you, I'll swap them with my current tablets and monitor any return of symptoms.

Just to say, mine are stored in a cool dark place - in a Lock and Lock box with plenty of those silica gel sachets that come in supplement bottles, in a kitchen cupboard against an outside wall so it's the coolest part of the kitchen. Mine are all in blister packs so can't say if it will be the same for bottles, but if the bottles are still sealed I wouldn't imagine any problem.

Ah ok, mine are stored outside wall kitchen cupboard, boxed, no silica packs though but we do have some spare so will add those, thank you. Recent prescriptions have been supplied in blister packs rather than bottles.

I used to have an issue with pharmacists decanting tablets into bottles without putting the expiry date on, they were very unhelpful so I solved it by changing chemists.
