My ferritin is 10. Normal 11-263. My iron saturation is 29%. Can a low ferritin without anemia cause shortness of breath? I have been bothered by an inability to take a deep breath x 7 months. I am also hypothyroid, TSH 1.4, free T4 1.3, free T3 3.0. I feel poorly.

Yes, and I'm not surprised that you feel poorly. Your low Ferritin suggests iron deficiency. What is your doctor doing about it?

If you want your thyroid results interpreted, you'll need to post the reference ranges with the results.

I eat 0 red meat to speak of. I’ve had upper Endos and colons within the recommended period of time. I’ve had a low ferritin x years but I think it finally caught up with me. I’ve been replacing it in teeny doses, as I don’t want the GI side effects. I’ve been feeling better but not my baseline. I just bought a supplement Ferrochel which has 27 mg if elemental iron per capsule. That’s more than I had been taking. I’m waiting for it from Amazon.

With a ferritin level that low your doctor should be doing something. Maybe an iron infusion even if you have iron deficiency. But when taking iron you should be monitored and have regular tests.

I too had low ferritin, and I felt absolutely dreadful. Due to covid I struggled to get help, but now I’m on iron and I take B12 and B6 , and Magnesium and selenium.

The only person who can really help is you yourself. Work on your own treatment and try to get optimal.

Very hard, but my head is clear for the first time since 2016 x

What dose and make of iron are you able to take?

Have a look at Amazon and read up on one that is good. Taking VitC helps absorption. It is B9 you need to take with B12 !
