Hello, i have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after being in remission for 2 years. I am experiencing quite a lot of pain in my left side around kidneys. I was wondering if anyone else with overactive thyroid has had the same?
Thank you in advance x

You should ask your doctor for a Kidney Function Test and for a urine sample to be tested for infection.
Sorry, I don't know if kidney pain is a symptom of overactive thyroid.
You should ask your surgery for copies of any blood tests you've had done over the last 2 or 3 years. It is possible your surgery allows access to records online, but if they don't you'll have to ask the receptionists for paper copies. (Don't ask a GP and don't make an appointment to speak to one to ask for records - always ask the receptionists - no appointment needed, but avoid calling when they are likely to be at their busiest.)
See your GP immediately. If that not possible, go to A&E.
A pain in your kidney may be CANCER!
I had the same 10 years ago and put it off for a while until the pain increased 100 fold all of a sudden. Had to call an ambulance. A nephrectomy within a week and fortunately no further problems with cancer.
i felt overmedicated on LevoSlight tremor/overactive bowls........ and i'd had nasty 1 sided kidney area pain for 4 mths ....... they found calcium oxalate crystals in my urine, and sent me for an ultrasound of kidneys to look for suspected kidney stone . nothing found . Levo was reduced a bit....... pain went away. sadly, so did my energy.
I'd not seen anyone about the pain because i have a history of sacroilliac pain and thought it was that.
