Constant sharp pain between shoulder blades and upper spine

I have raised antibodies and have a consultants appointment in 2 weeks. I asked GP outright could it be thyroid cancer when she rang about the results and she said there is always a possibility etc, very diplomatic but honest. I have had a pain between my shoulder blades for about 4 months and it is getting worse. Like a constant stab, particularly on the right hand side. Has anyone had similar and are these linked? Thank you for any advice.

How raised were they?

I know the result was 6.6 but TBH I dont know what that means. I have tried checking it out but got nowhere

Didn't they give you a range? You should always ask for a print-out of your results, that way you will give you the ranges. If you just ask your doctor over the phone, it won't occur to him/her to give you the range - they probably think you wouldn't understand, anyway. But, just telling you your result was 6.6 is meaningless. Ranges vary from lab to lab, and the upper limit of TgAB is usually 110, which would make your result pretty low! So, always ask for a print-out - it's your legal right to have one. :)

That sort of pain is often gall bladder, but it can be something as simple as poor posture, However, you should insist your GP refers you as it could be a cracked vertebra

I looked at that option, but it isnt any kind of abdomen pain, or any other symptoms apart from the back pain making me feel sick. So could it be gall bladder with just the back being painful?

Many pains in the spine are caused by muscular spasms. We have more muscles than bones. I have lower back conditions and had complex spinal surgery. The lower back issues can impact the upper back and create painful spasms.

Try lying on your left side - arms out at shoulder level close to the floor. Raise your Right arm up from the floor and take it slowly over your body and connect both arms and hands. Hold for 10 and slowly return arm.

Good Luck !
