Switching from thiroyd to thyroid s

Hi everyone! Hope you're all ok! I've not been active on here for a while but I have almost run out of my Thai thiroyd meds ๐Ÿ˜ฉand am switching to thyroid-s as I can't get hold of it anymore. Is it a straight swap or is there a difference in strength? I currently take 5 grains of thiroyd and am doing great on it. Also, do you need to crush it or anything with it being coated?

I'm really stressing about switching as I've never felt better than on thiroyd and there is no other affordable/available alternative.

Thanks in advance!

Nat x

According to stopthethyroidmadness.com/a...

Thyroid-S has approximately 38 mcg T4 and 9 mcg T3

Thiroyd has 35 mcg T4 and 8.31 mcgT3

Thanks ๐Ÿ‘ So do you think I should just start on 4.5 grains maybe?

Sorry, but I can't say, I've never swapped NDT brands (don't take it), so work out the equivalent and if you think it's best to start a little lower then go for that.

Hello Nat I was the same really well on thiroyd until I ran out last year I swapped to WP from America but not as good as old one like all NDTs that have been reformulated it was also very expensive.Have been trying Metavive 11 since March it's ok but my weight has crept up by at least 10 pounds so not feeling the best at the moment I am waiting for a thyroid S delivery that is overdue hope you find it suits you perhaps start off really slowly to see how you tolerate it there are good reviews about it but know it has more fillers than thiroyd good luck!

Hi ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah I used to be on nature throid until the reformulation and worried about switching to thiroyd but actually it was really easy. I'm just stressing over this because I know there are no other ndt options if this doesn't agree with me. I think I'll start on slightly less and see how I go. Urghh the thought of my symptoms coming back after being well for so long just doesn't bear thinking about ๐Ÿ˜•

I'll let you know how it goes though xx

I know exactly what you mean! I was so well for over 15 years on the original Nature thyroid I even forgot I had a thyroid problem as I was back to even better than normal! It's so hard being a thyroid patient now as all our options are being taken away think the big companies are shutting everything down that works at good price we can afford it's all about money it's so frustrating but also so wrong as our lives are being ruined on poor medication. Good luck me know how you get on X x x ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

There is a new NDT on the block, there's a very long post running on here regarding Tru Thyroid, and it is made in 1/2 grain tablets, airfreighted and with around a 2 week order / delivery turnaround.

Maybe it's worth checking this one out, as I read it's similar to Thiroyd :

Just keep scrolling through, it was still going last weekend :

It is really easy if you ever want to know how to do it just ask I can tell you by pm. Just to add I use google if I don't know how to do something and there are even videos showing you how to do stuff. I cut my husband's hair after watching one of the videos and it didn't look too bad.๐Ÿ˜€

Several forum members have offered to help me with this and now it's become like a Mount Everest - I not good at following written instructions - dyslexic - and just glaze over - so thank you but I don't need the upset - I need someone to physically show me and then I'll be " with it " - hopefully !!!

I always find watching a video easier than written instructions. A few years ago I got my son a pop-up tent for a festival he was going to. I decided to try the tent out while he was at work and put it up in the living room. However I could not follow the instructions of how to get it back in its bag! After trying for an hour I looked on youtube and found a helpful video and I had it back in the bag in seconds! I didn't tell my son because he thinks I am bit thick when it comes to anything technical lol
