Well today I finally got the telephone appointment that I have waited 2 weeks for! I had to discuss the outcome of my heart monitor with her and what the next steps would be as my nightly palpitations have got so much worse. I have been woken up 4-5 times a night and not getting much sleep. She told me that as far as they were concerned the monitor showed my heart was beating much too fast but it's regular so they are not concerned! So I asked what is the next step. She says their isn't one unless I agree to take the antidepressants they are offering me. She says I'm clearly suffering from anxiety and because I choose to fix my problems with vitamins and supplements they can't help me. She says that's not how they operate! So it looks like I'm off to the private doc again hopefully get some answers. She also said there are no plans to resume normal service no proper doc visits she thinks till well into next year!

GP Rant!
My heart too, beats too fast but is regular. My GP prescribed Bisoprolol and it now beats around 80-90 beats per minute instead of 130-160. So much more comfortable.

Do you use fluoride toothpaste? Might sound mad but I was getting bad palpitations every night and getting worse. Heart flip flopping in my chest then thumping so hard it terrified me. Turned out to be fluoride in my toothpaste, changed toothpaste and all back to normal. Figured it worth mentioning especially when you said during the night. I would get a few in the morning but nothing comp to night time.
Various things which speed up my heart...
High blood sugar
Too little salt
Too little potassium
Low iron and/or ferritin
I'm like Barrister - I use prescribed Bisoprolol too, in a tiny dose whenever my heart rate goes too fast and I can't slow it down with my own self-help measures.
With a doctor who uses blackmail to try to get you to take anti-depressants I would see or speak to a different doctor in future or would consider changing surgeries.
I live on a Scottish island so no chance of changing doctor. I have low cortisol and cannot raise my levo. I told her about my cortisol tests last year and she laughed.
Too little thyroid hormone can cause the heart to speed up, as well as too much TH. For me, it's one of the first signs I get that I need more T3.
