How long does a blood sample last?

I did a finger prick Medichecks Thyroid Check UltraVit Blood Test and sent it off yesterday by 24 hour tracked. The tracking shws that it took 24 hours to go 60 miles from Dundee to Edinburgh!

My question is how long does the blood sample last before it might affect results?

Don't worry. Tracked 24 can take up to 48 hours. Labs tend to keep samples for 7 days in case further tests are added, so your sample will be fine. I expect you'll get an email either tomorrow or Friday morning to say your sample has arrived.
