No Wockhardt levo..what would you do?

Good afternoon, my chemist can not get hold of any Wockhardt levo. I tried other brand before (teva) and my levels went through the roof. Maybe one of the ingredients didn’t agree with me I’m not sure but my doctor always puts on my prescription that I need Wockhardt. My chemist can’t get hold of any and I have called round all other chemists in the area and even emailed Wockhardt themselves. I don’t know what to do or if there are any other brands similar to Wockhardt? Help please

Could you ring Wockhardt and check they have supplies then ring your pharmacist and inform them they should be able to order in. If not, then an independent pharmacy should be able to get it.

Avoid TEVA as it was clearly not bioequivalent for you. I hope you made a yellow card report.

You might get on better with one of the other varieties as a last resort. Helvella has pinned a list of available levos if you search around this site.

I can't find the pinned post but if you do a search you'll find some info.

I had exactly the same issue. I’m on liquid Levothyroxine. The brand I changed to was CREO Pharma. I was a bit worried initially however, it was fine and now they can’t get CREO Pharma again after 4 months on it. What I do know is that Teva has a bad effect on me so I’d definitely not have that again.

Wockhardt has had a recall it’s levothyroxine. I called them to find out what the supply issue is. They are currently waiting for a new license which can take months in a normal climate, I think the virus could be holding things up.

Have you tried Mercury Pharma that was also alright for me but I do do a lot better with Wockhardt.

I too always ask for Wockhardt as I have found it’s the only one that doesn’t make me itch to the point where I’m literally scratching my skin off. However, my surgery hasn’t been able to get hold of any either so they have given me Mercury Pharma Eltroxin to try and so far🤞it seems to be ok. I’ve been on it for a month now...

It might be worth trying that.

Helvella has created a very useful list about T4 brands and who they’re really made by.

Good luck. 🍀

Wockhart is not available at the present time. My daughter takes this as it does not contain acacia powder which she is extremely allergic to. She also takes almus /accord because it also does not contain acacia powder. She has increased her dose of this brand and split the pill to get her correct dose.
