Taking different brands of levo, is this normal?

Hello,

I've just received my next lot of levo from my online pharmacy, although the boxes say North Star the 50mg is Accord and 25mg is Teva, I've had both before but as single tabs when I was first diagnosed 25mg (Teva) and when I was increased to 50mg (Accord), I've been increased to 75mg and wondered if it's ok to take 2 different brands together, I had no side affects taking them as separate prescriptions, and is this normal or should I switch to using a pharmacy so I can ensure I get the same brand, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes, that is correct. the 25mcg dose of Northstar is made by Teva, the 50mcg and 100mcg dose tablets are made by Accord.

If you've been OK on the Teva previously there is no reason why you shouldn't be fine again.

Accord don't make a 25mcg tablet so if you wanted to stick to Accord then you'd need to take 50mcg one day and 100mcg the next day to average 75mcg.

SeasideSusie, thank you for clearing that up, I'll continue to take them as I have been doing 😁

I take 75mcg myself.

My doctor writes my prescription for 50mcg x 84 tabs and I just break one in half.

Ask yours if he will do that and you won’t have to mix doses.
