I take both those brands and have no issues with either Dawney63. Few manufacturers produce 25mcg Levo, so that’s why you will have received Mercury Pharma. If you find you do not tolerate the latter, you can always ask for more 50mcg Almus and use a pill cutter to cut one tablet in half to make up 75mcg, leaving the spare 25mcg in a sealed container for the following day.

As recommended in your previous post, it may be a good idea to cut the 25mcg Mercury Pharma in half, adding just 12.5mcg to your usual 50mcg until well tolerated. I am definitely more of a tortoise than a hare when adjusting medication and even add the 12.5mcg alternate days at first. In my case, adjusting by larger amounts causes increased heart rate and palpitations. However, other members are able to add larger amounts with no adverse effects.

Definitely get levels retested 6-8 weeks after being in a stable dose of thyroid medication.

ps pill cutters are available very cheaply on Amazon

I haven't had problems with either brand. Pharmacists do like to give the cheapest !

Teva seems to be the brand that adversely affects more people than other brands.

Thank you, I'm going to ask my GP to prescribe more of my original brand and cut them in half.

If you find a brand that definitely suits you, or a brand that does not suit you, you can ask to have the info put on your GP and pharmacy records.

See this government prescribing information from MHRA. You can print it to show them.
