Does anyone know if NDT causes breasts to be swollen as if containing extra fluid?

I don’t know if that is a known effect. I certainly haven’t experienced it on NDT

Never had that. Sounds more like high/out of balance oestrogen

Not sure how oestrogen goes out of balance at my age! (80) Perhaps just get used to my big boobs!

hey foxglove, if your dose isn't right - anything can happen. By fluid you mean water retention/mucin or more like fluid in ducts? I have a crazy fluid retention in my breasts, they are huge, for me the cause is t4 component not t3.

Hi thanks for reply feels like fluid retention more than anything else, but no weight gain and I don't think I had it when only on levo. Hate to admit but perhaps the answer is jut "old age" and the body sort of rearranges itself!

Hmmm then I am not sure, could be prolactin or sex hormones, have you checked these?

Thanks but not intending checking sex hormones (at my age - 80!) who would not criticising !!!!

Oh right! Did this start with NDT?

Yes I'm pretty certain it did

Ok, trust your gut. When have you started it and what are your bloods if you have them?

Thanks for reply will investigate cortisol. How does one know if it's high?

Just remembered I had cortisol check when I had blue horizon thyro-gold done. Result 252, blood taken about 10am, about 2 months ago. Think this was in range

Maybe you have managed to switch gravity to when you were 20! If so, send me the secret - gravity is getting stronger here every day! :)

Know the feeling! Nothing in my body is where it used to be I wouldn't mind the "big boobs" if they weren't almost meeting my waist. The Michelin tyre man springs to mind. I'm not really joking (well just a bit), I realise some people have SERIOUS breast problems, I,m touching wood here

Ah yes but what to believe? I think maybe it was best before we had all these tests to cause (probably unnecessary) anxiety and just went on how we felt. What is it they say about knowledge? and I'm including docs etc.

I have thought of installing a hook in the ceiling and hanging upside down at night to reverse the gravity. I will let you know if it works...
