I have hyper nodule confirmed by uptake scan and TSI negative (no other antibodies tested recently) but I have developed an number of different eye issues.
⚫️ Ingrowing lash! Causing irritation when too long. Very fine, so difficult to remove but I have managed to do it a few times.
⚫️Very small indentations in edge of eyelid
⚫️Lash shedding with flaking and redness at lash root (hot compresses have helped not cured this)
⚫️I have several tiny white spots. 1 very near a tear duct (possibly Milia?)
⚫️I have 1 tiny Blood Red cherry angioma on lash line (very itchy). I have many on my upper arms and they have spread to legs and face including eye lids. Advised too many and too small to treat.
My eyes are very slightly uneven size, & has been since birth but very hard to tell if has worsened!
GP assumed I had Thyroid eye disease (I asked if that was likely as I don’t have graves, but he didn’t know) and told me to get endo to refer. Endo said eye pain was due to new diagnosis of diabetes & to go back to GP and arrange referral for glaucoma check.
GP told me diabetes level (HbA1c 51) was minimal and not the cause of any symptoms but agreed to refer with regards to the ingrowing lash, but this was cancelled and I was told to get re-referred once Covid over.
Feeling a little abandoned and passed off between GP and specialist/s.

I have migraines, which was manageable & untreated, until I stopped taking propranolol, temporarily Prescribed for thyroid symptoms. I had to go back on them.
I’m also obese, but have lost some weight with low carb diet.
Recently had low heart rate average 55 bpm dipping to 45. Discussed with GP who said no point doing another ECG as last one ok! Previously had tachycardia and palpitations. GP blamed the thyroid although levels have been ok.
Also have toe numbness! Endo says probably the diabetes, GP says not, but Has no suggestion of what it could be.
Yes, currently 10mg per day, sometimes have to take 15 for part of the week or my FT3 drifts up.
The Propranolol continued for the high BP?
BP has been high but never tested regularly.
The Propranolol helped with the migraines?
Propranolol prevents migraines, when I stopped it, it triggered migraines lasting days. I also found my T3 rose disproportionately.
U check your heart rate regularly that's how u know it's gone lower? Any symptoms when it's low?
No symptoms, which is why GP had no interest. Have a Fitbit. My daily resting heart rate in 2019 & first few months of year was between 64 - 79. In March this year it dropped to 51 - 60 Began low carb diet round this time. My recent TFT is lower in range.
TSH <0.18 (0.35 - 3.50)
FT4 14 (8 - 21) 46%
FT3 4.1 (3.8 - 6.0) 13.6%
it’s been lower previously but not affected rate as much.
Re ECG. When was last one done? The GP should know better how the ECG works and not make such comments.
ECG done last Dec when I complained of palpitations, rate was 102 (At time of ECG, wasn’t like that all day fortunately) GP said can you contact your endo? So I arranged a blood test and levels were fine so it was never explained, but resolved itself.
No medication yet for the diabetes?
GP advised I reduce carbs and retest to see it I can reduce levels. I’m overdue a HBA1C now but getting a blood sample is very difficult. 3 nurses and GP tried two weeks ago I’m still covered in bruises and they only managed to get enough for thyroid function & Cholesterol (which was high)
Your endo sounds apt to shoot off the top of his head. Is he your regular endo?
I never see the same endo, I have hospital appointment every 6 month, so I can explain why I don’t want RAI. The rest of the time a nurse specialist phones or writes the results and adjusts dose. She has a better idea than the endo who try’s to overdose me.
No wonder you feel abandoned. It’s a tough time for those of us who need to see someone but can’t 🙁
For the redness and flaking you could use an eye bag morning and night - that’s a wheat bag you put in the microwave and heat up then put on your eyes for a while then massage your eyelids, after that use a medicated eye wipe to clean your lids thoroughly then put in a drop of HycoSan or Theolose preservative free eye drops three or four times a day - you might need to do that for about six months or so.
If that doesn’t work ask your doctor to take a swab from your eyelid or else speak to your optician if that isn’t working. Assuming they are open for business.
Just found this about HbA1c - so your 51 looks ok.
“If you have known diabetes and your HbA1c is 6.5 to 7 per cent (48-53 mmol/mol), your blood glucose control over the last few months would be considered to be good. Most doctors would recommend that people with diabetes should aim for this range.18 Sep 2018
Yes, you need to do it an awful lot and be consistent- it’s a bit of a pain. Trouble is that once you feel the benefit you (or I do) tend to stop doing it as often as you need to and things come back again. Good luck anyway.
